Our Drivelink telematics system powers Safety Connect, which offer drivers peace of mind for when the unexpected occurs. Safety Connect includes an Emergency Assistance (SOS) Button, Enhanced Roadside Assistance, Automatic Collision Notification and a Stolen Vehicle Locator.
There are also other aids to keep drivers alert and focused on the road. Prompts like “Hey Toyota” or “Hey Lexus” empower drivers to control the world around them in a hands-free way. With that simple two-word prompt, our in-house developed Virtual Voice Assistant is able to control HVAC and audio controls, and even unexpected delights like the windshield wipers and interior lighting in some vehicles.

It's important to keep team members abreast of safety procedures when they’re working onsite, too. In honor of National Safety Month, we offered several safety-related learning opportunities for our team members:
- One of our senior engineers is a volunteer firefighter at the Citizens Fire Academy for the City of Celina, TX. He recently attended a multi-day, hands-on course at the Public Safety Training Center at Collin College and shared his fire safety knowledge with team members during our twice-monthly business update. He discussed tips for putting out fires, reminded the team about our emergency exits and shelter locations throughout the office, and brought a fire extinguisher for team members to familiarize themselves with should they ever need to use it at the office, at home or out in their community. We practiced the PASS method: Pull the pin, Aim the nozzle toward the base of the fire, Squeeze the trigger slowly and evenly, and Sweep from side to side to cover all areas of the fire and prevent spreading.
- We tested our emergency alert system, which is the fastest way for us to get in contact with our team members during an emergency. The system sends phone, text, email and Slack notifications to all team members and is especially useful during inclement weather situations.
- When learning about active emergencies, we refreshed ourselves on the important steps of the Run, Fight, Hide protocol.
- Back by popular demand, we offered onsite CPR certification and AED (automated external defibrillator) training for our team members.
